İstanbul (newspaper)
''İstanbul'' is a Turkish-language newspaper published in Istanbul, Turkey. The newspaper was launched by Habib Edip Törehan in İstanbul, Turkey in 1949. Its original name was ''Yeni İstanbul'' ("New İstanbul"). With a newspaper heading in blue, it drew attention among other dailies having traditional red-colored heading. In 1964, it was bought by businessman Kemal Uzan. In 1973, it was renamed to ''İstanbul''. Although it was closed in 1981, the newspaper resumed publication in 1986. Turkish Language
Turkish ( , ), also referred to as Turkish of Turkey (''Türkiye Türkçesi''), is the most widely spoken of the Turkic languages, with around 80 to 90 million speakers. It is the national language of Turkey and Northern Cyprus. Significant smaller groups of Turkish speakers also exist in Iraq, Syria, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Greece, the Caucasus, and other parts of Europe and Central Asia. Fatih () is a district of and a municipality (''belediye'') in Istanbul, Turkey, and home to almost all of the provincial authorities (including the governor's office, police headquarters, metropolitan municipality and tax office) but not the courthouse. It encompasses the peninsula coinciding with old Constantinople. In 2009, the district of Eminönü, which had been a separate municipality located at the tip of the peninsula, was once again remerged into Fatih because of its small population.
