İsmail Rüştü Aksal
Ä°smail Rüştü Aksal (1911 – September 13, 1989) was a civil servant and politician in Turkey. Biography He was born in Pamukova district of Sakarya Province in 1911. After graduating from the Istanbul High School in 1930 and Faculty of Political Sciences in 1933, he succeeded in equivalence exam of law. Up to 1946 he served as a civil servant in the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce. During the World War II years he served as a finance advisor of the Turkish embassy in London. In 1946 he went into politics and he served in the Turkish parliament in 1946-1950, 1957-1960, 1961-1965 terms. In 1969 he quit politics. He served in the board of management of Ä°ÅŸ Bankası. He died on 13 September 1989 in Ä°stanbul. As a politician In 1946, he joined the Republican People's Party (CHP) and was elected as the MP from Kocaeli Province. Kasım Gülek (1905 – 1996) was a prominent Turkish statesman credited with being instrumental in entrenching democracy in Turkey by taking politics to the masses. Biography He was born and lived in Adana, Adana Vilayet, Ottoman Empire, until he went away to school in Istanbul, where he studied respectively at Galatasaray High School and Robert College. He then went on to study at Ecole des Sciences Politiques in Paris, France, followed by Columbia University in New York City, New York, United States, where he received his PhD in Economics. 1960 Turkish Coup D'état
The 1960 Turkish coup d'état ( tr, 27 Mayıs Darbesi) was the first coup d'état in the Republic of Turkey. It took place on May 27, 1960. The coup was staged by a group of 38 young Turkish military officers, acting outside the military chain of command. The officers were ''de facto'' led by Cemal Madanoğlu until the actual coup date. After a threat by Ragıp Gümüşpala that he would move to quell the coup unless it was led by someone with a higher military rank than himself, the officers brought in General Cemal Gürsel as their leader. The coup was carried out against the democratically elected government of the Democrat Party, and ultimately resulted in the execution of its prime minister, Adnan Menderes, alongside two of his ministers, Fatin Rüştü Zorlu and Hasan Polatkan. İsmet İnönü
Mustafa İsmet İnönü (; 24 September 1884 – 25 December 1973) was a Turkish army officer and statesman of Kurdish descent, who served as the second President of Turkey from 11 November 1938 to 22 May 1950, and its Prime Minister three times: from 1923 to 1924, 1925 to 1937, and 1961 to 1965. İnönü is acknowledged by many as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's right-hand man, with their friendship going back to the Gallipoli campaign.
