It was established in 1996 as the successor to the Zlatý slavík awards, which was established in 1962 in Czechoslovakia by magazine ''Mladý svět'' and '' Smena na nedeľu,'' which continued until 1991.History of the chart

Radka Urbanová ( Vranková; born 16 March 1973), known by the stage name Radůza, is a Czech award-winning singer and accordionist. She won three awards at the 2003 Anděl Awards. Ondřej Ládek (born 16 August 1979), known professionally as Xindl X, is a Czech singer-songwriter and screenwriter. In his music he combines pop, folk, hip hop, jazz and blues. Martin Chodúr (born 24 November 1989) is a Czech singer, composer, lyricist, and multi-instrumentalist. No Name (Slovak Band)
No Name is a Slovak rock band. It was formed in Košice on 26 August 1996 by Viliam Gutray and three Timko brothers - Igor, Roman, and Ivan. Marián Čekovský joined No Name as a keyboardist and was replaced by Zoli Šallai after leaving the band. A few years later, the youngest Timko brother, Dušan, also became a member of No Name. Josef Vágner (May 26, 1928 – May 6, 2000) was a Czech zoologist, tropical forester, author, and the director of the Dvůr Králové Zoo in Dvůr Králové nad Labem.
