Þorsteinn Bachmann
Þorsteinn Bachmann (born 25 October 1965) is an Icelandic actor. He is known for his role as Móri in ''Life in a Fishbowl''. In 2015 he won an Edda Award for that same role. Early life Þorsteinn grew up in the Fossvogur area of Reykjavík, Iceland before moving to Breiðholt when he was 10 years old. He did not do well in school in the early years. Looking back, he remembers that he was barely able to read or write before changing schools from Fossvogur to the one in Breiðholt. Career Þorsteinn graduated from the Icelandic Drama School in 1991. Since graduation he has worked with theatre groups in Reykjavík and Akureyri and was president of the latter for a few years. He has held many acting courses, and has served as a teacher at both the Icelandic Drama School and the Icelandic Film School. In 2013 he worked with the National Theatre of Iceland. Þorsteinn Eiríksson
Thorstein Eiriksson ( non, Þórsteinn Eiríksson ) was the third and youngest son of Erik the Red. Almost nothing is known about Thorstein's life. According to the Vinland Sagas, Erik the Red settled in Greenland around 986 with his wife and three grown sons, Leif, Thorvald and Thorstein.Seaver (2000) After Leif had sailed west from Greenland and discovered Vinland, Thorvald organized and led a second expedition to this new country. The natives, called Skraelings by the Norse, attacked Thorvald and his men. Thorvald received a fatal wound and was buried in Vinland. Þorsteinn Erlingsson
Þorsteinn Erlingsson (1858–1914) was an Icelandic poet. He graduated from Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík in 1883 and went to Copenhagen to study law. He never finished law school but during his time in Copenhagen his poems became known in Iceland. He returned to his home country in 1895 and died of pneumonia in Reykjavík in 1914. Þorsteinn was an atheist and a socialist. While much of his poetry attacked the ruling classes and the church he also composed popular ditties and poems on nature reminiscent of romanticism. Sometimes, as in his poem ''Sólskríkjan'', the two themes are intertwined. Þorsteinn frá Hamri (aka Þorsteinn Jónsson), (15 Mar 1938 – 28 Jan 2018) was an Icelandic writer notable for having been nominated five times for the Nordic Council's Literature Prize over a period of 35 years. Þorsteinn Gylfason (12 August 1942 – 16 August 2005) was an Icelandic philosopher, translator, musician and poet. Þorsteinn distinguished himself in Icelandic public life with his writings in newspapers, journals and publications.
