Ezra
Ezra (; he, עֶזְרָא, '; fl. 480–440 BCE), also called Ezra the Scribe (, ') and Ezra the Priest in the Book of Ezra, was a Jewish scribe (''sofer'') and priest (''kohen''). In Greco-Latin Ezra is called Esdras ( grc-gre, Ἔσδρας). According to the Hebrew Bible he was a descendant of Sraya, the last High Priest to serve in the First Temple, and a close relative of Joshua, the first High Priest of the Second Temple. He returned from Babylonian exile and reintroduced the Torah in Jerusalem. According to 1 Esdras, a Greek translation of the Book of Ezra still in use in Eastern Orthodoxy, he was also a High Priest. Rabbinic tradition holds that he was an ordinary member of the priesthood. Several traditions have developed over his place of burial. One tradition says that he is buried in al-Uzayr near Basra (Iraq), while another tradition alleges that he is buried in Tadif near Aleppo, in northern Syria. Üzeyir Garih
Üzeyir Garih (1929 – August 25, 2001) was a Turkish engineer, businessman, writer and investor. Early years Üzeyir Garih was born in İstanbul on 28 June 1929. He graduated from İstanbul Technical University ranking in the Dean's Honors list. He received his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1951. Later in 1984, İstanbul Technical University granted him with an Honorary Ph.D. Doctorate degree. Garih successfully served in the Turkish Air Force as a reserve officer. Career Being one of the best engineers of the country, he started his career at the İstanbul agency of Carrier Corporation in the field of heating, ventilation and air conditioning. In 1954, he joined İshak Alaton in founding what became Alarko Holding, for which he served as president and co-chairman until 2001. He is recognized as the father of Azerbaijani composed classical music and opera. Uzeyir Hajibeyov composed the music of the national anthem of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (which was re-adopted after Azerbaijan regained its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991).
