Øystein Gåre
Øystein Gåre (30 June 1954 – 18 September 2010) was a Norwegian football coach. He is best known to have led FK Bodø/Glimt to silver medals in both the Norwegian Premier League and the Norwegian Football Cup in 2003; for this Gåre received the Kniksen award as coach of the year. Fotballklubben Bodø/Glimt () is a Norwegian professional football club from the town of Bodø that currently plays in Eliteserien, the Norwegian top division. The club was founded in 1916 and is frequently referred to by its original club name, "''Glimt''". Bodø/Glimt are the reigning champions in Norway after winning 2021 Eliteserien. They also have won the now defunct Northern Norwegian Cup nine times, Norwegian Cup twice, the Norwegian top division twice, in 2020 and in 2021, and finished second in 1977, 1993, 2003, and 2019. The Norwegian Football Cup ( no, Norgesmesterskapet i fotball for herrer) is the main knockout cup competition in Norwegian football. It is run by the Football Association of Norway and has been contested since 1902, making it the oldest football tournament in the country. The tournament is commonly known as ''Cupen'' ("The Cup"), NM or NM Cup (''NM Cupen''), an acronym formed from ''Norgesmesterskap'' ("Norwegian Championship"). Kniksen Award
The Kniksen Award ( no, Kniksenprisen), established in 1990, honors the best players in the Norwegian football premiership. The award is named after the legendary Norwegian football player Roald Jensen, nicknamed "Kniksen". Categories Category A A jury composed of players, leaders, coaches and officials in the Tippeligaen, nominates and choose the winners in each category. All the nominees must play in the Norwegian top division. The player's nationality does not matter.
