Østfold (Storting Constituency)
Østfold is one of the 19 multi-member constituencies of the Storting, the national legislature of Norway. The constituency was established in 1921 following the introduction of proportional representation for elections to the Storting. It consists of the municipalities of Aremark, Fredrikstad, Halden, Hvaler, Indre Østfold, Marker, Moss, Råde, Rakkestad, Sarpsborg, Skiptvet and Våler in the county of Viken. The constituency currently elects eight of the 169 members of the Storting using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2021 parliamentary election it had 223,945 registered electors. Storting
The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. A member of Stortinget is known in Norwegian as a ''stortingsrepresentant'', literally "Storting representative". The assembly is led by a president and, since 2009, five vice presidents: the presidium. The members are allocated to twelve standing committees as well as four procedural committees. Elise Bjørnebekk-Waagen
Elise Bjørnebekk-Waagen (born 19 February 1990) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. After serving as a deputy representative during the term 2013–2017, she was elected representative from the constituency of Østfold to the Storting for the period 2017–2021. She was re-elected for the period 2021–2025. Progress Party (Norway)
The Progress Party ( nb, Fremskrittspartiet; nn, Framstegspartiet; se, Ovddádusbellodat), commonly abbreviated as FrP, is a right-wing political party in Norway. The FrP has traditionally self-identified as classical-liberal and as a libertarian party but is generally positioned to the right of the Conservative Party, and is considered the most right-wing party to be represented in parliament. Erlend Wiborg
Erlend Wiborg (born 20 January 1984) is a Norwegian politician for the Progress Party. He served as deputy mayor of Moss from 2011 to 2013, when he was elected as an MP for Østfold. He has previously served as deputy MP from 2005 to 2013. In parliament, Wiborg served as the first vice chair of the Standing Committee on Labour and Social Affairs from 2013 to 2017, before chairing the committee until 2021. Ingjerd Schou
Ingjerd Schou, née Schie (born 20 January 1955) is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. Born in Sarpsborg, Schou was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Østfold in 2001. From 2001, when the second cabinet Bondevik held office, Schou was Minister of Social Affairs.The Ministry of Social Affairs has now been succeeded by the Ministry of Labour and Social Inclusion.
