Ølstykke Fodbold Club ; also known as Ølstykke FC or ØFC) is an association football club based in the town of Ølstykke on Zealand, Denmark. The men's team competes in the Series 1, the sixth tier of the Danish football league system and the second tier of the regional DBU Zealand competitions. The club was founded on 18 May 1918 as ''Ølstykke Idrætsforening'', as the club also had a basketball department. In 1986, the name was changed to Ølstykke FC as the club wanted to focus solely on football. History Formation and rise through the divisions Ølstykke Idrætsforening (Ø.I.F.) was founded as a sports association on 18 May 1918 with Aksel Larsen as the club's first chairman, and over the years had both association football and basketball as its main departments. Ølstykke Stationsby, commonly known as Ølstykke, is a town in Egedal Municipality, serving as its municipal seat. Until January 1, 2010, Ølstykke was an independent city, but today it has merged with Stenløse, Denmark, Stenløse and forms the urban area of Ølstykke-Stenløse with 22,030 inhabitants. Zealand Series ( da, Sjællandsserien, SS, Herre Sjællandsserien) is the highest division for men organized by the regional association DBU Sjælland and one of the sixth-highest divisions overall in the Danish football league system. Benny Johansen
Benny Johansen (born 18 March 1949) is a Danish former football player and manager. He won the Danish championship twice as a player for B 1903 and once as a manager of FC Copenhagen. He played one game for the Denmark national under-21 football team in 1972. Michael Schäfer (born 25 January 1959) is a Danish former football player and now manager. In his active career as a midfielder, he played 482 games for Danish club Lyngby BK, as well as three games for the Denmark national football team. At the moment he is a teacher at Virum Skole in Denmark. Biography Born in Rødovre in eastern Copenhagen, Schäfer started playing football with local club BK Avarta.
