Özkan Sümer
Özkan Sümer ( b. 20 November 1940 d. 22 December 2020) was a Turkish footballer, manager, and president of Trabzonspor (2001-2003). He played as a defender for Trabzonspor (and later coached the same club), Galatasaray SK, and the Turkey national football team. Career Footballer Sümer was born in Maçka and started to play football in his home town's club of Trabzonspor. After some time at Kardemir Karabükspor and Akçaabat Sebatspor, Sümer re-joined Trabzonspor. He was a successful defender of his team. During this time, he earned the nickname Deve Özkan due to his tallness and stubborn rough playing temperament. Manager After having ended his active sports life, Sümer served as an instructor for a while at the TFF. He coached later the youth and amateur squads of Trabzonspor before he was appointed manager of the main team in 1978. Maçka (, the "club"; Laz language, Laz: მაჩხა ''Maçxa'') is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of Trabzon Province, Turkey. Its area is 925 km2, and its population is 24,709 (2022). Zeliha Şimşek (born April 30, 1981) is a Turkish women's footballer and trainer. Currently, she plays as a midfielder in the Turkish Women's Second League for Orduspor. She was formerly on the Trabzonspor women's team, which she co-founded in 2007. She captained and also coached the team until they folded. Early life Zeliha Şimşek was born on April 30, 1981, in the southern Turkish city of İskenderun in Hatay Province. Trabzonspor Club Women's Football Team () is the women's football team of Trabzonspor in Trabzon, Turkey. It was established on 16 October 2007. Right after its foundation, the team was invited to join the Turkish Women's Football Super League. However, the league was cancelled in 2003 but re-established for the 2007–08 season. Atay Aktuğ
Atay Aktuğ, (b. 11 April 1945), is the former president of the Turkish football club Trabzonspor. Career Atay was a player for Trabzonspor in the late sixties and early seventies. He was voted in as president after his predecessor Özkan Sümer suddenly resigned in August 2003. He was re-elected in December 2004. One of the main changes he has brought about is to list Trabzonspor on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, in the hope of raising funds for the club.
