Örebro Mission
The Örebro Mission () was a Protestantism, Protestant denomination in Sweden. It was founded in Örebro in 1892 by Baptist pastor John Ongman and was part of the Baptist Union of Sweden until 1936. In 1997, the denomination became part of the Evangelical Free Church in Sweden. Christianity was the religion of virtually all of the Swedish population from the 12th to the early 20th century, but it has rapidly declined throughout the late 20th and early 21st century. The Baptist Union of Sweden () was a Baptist union in Sweden. In 2011–2012, they merged to form a new denomination, Joint Future Church, now called Uniting Church in Sweden. The first known Baptist church in Sweden was organized on September 21, 1848, in Vallersvik, where a group of people committed the first-known Baptist baptism in Sweden. The Conventicle Act was in effect at the time, outlawing all religious meetings other than those of the Lutheran Church of Sweden. The new movement's leader, F.O. Nilsson, was exiled.
