Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu
Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu (born 2 November 1965) is a Turkish medical doctor (pulmonologist), human rights activist and an MP (Member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly - TBMM) for the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). He has dedicated his political career to fighting against the human rights violations in Turkey. Early life and education Of Turkish origin, Gergerlioğlu was born in Şarkikaraağaç. He completed his primary and schools education at the ( Religious Vocational School) in Bursa, Turkey. In 1990, he graduated from the Medical School of the Anadolu University. Professional career He began working at a Medical Center in Tecirli, Iğdır. His second stop was Orhaneli State Hospital, Bursa. He was successful in the Expertise in Medical Science (TUS) in 1995. The ''Washington Examiner'' is an American Conservatism in the United States, conservative news magazine based in Washington, D.C., consisting of a website and a weekly printed magazine. December 2015–February 2016 Cizre Curfew
The December 2015–February 2016 Cizre curfew was the second Turkish military curfew in Cizre since the onset of the Kurdish-Turkish conflict after the end of the cease fire between the PKK and the Turkish state in 2015. The curfew took place within the scope of the 2015–16 Şırnak clashes and after the September 2015 Cizre curfew, during a period of violent curfews throughout Turkish Kurdistan. The Cizre curfew involved "wholesale destruction of large residential areas carried out by the military", which used crew-served weapons, including airstrikes. "I Apologize" () is an online campaign launched in December 2008 in Turkey by numerous journalists, politicians, and professors, calling for a collective apology for the Armenian genocide, which the campaign calls "the Great Catastrophe that Ottoman Armenians were subjected to in 1915." Since 2016, the Government of Turkey, government of Turkey has conducted a series of purges, enabled by a Martial law and state of emergency in Turkey, state of emergency in reaction to the 2016 Turkish coup attempt, failed coup attempt on 15 July that year.
