The Grande ceinture Ouest line (French - ''Ligne Grande ceinture Ouest'', or GCO) is a 10 km long section of the Grande Ceinture de Paris, located in Yvelines and reopened to the public on 12 December 2004, after being closed to passengers for 68 years. Managed by the SNCF, it links Saint-Germain-en-Laye (Gare de Saint-Germain-en-Laye - Grande-Ceinture, gare de Grande-Ceinture) to Noisy-le-Roi, via Gare de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche-Forêt-de-Marly, Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche. Chemin De Fer De Petite Ceinture
Paris' former Chemin de fer de Petite Ceinture ('small(er) belt railway'), also colloquially known as ''La Petite Ceinture'', was a circular railway built as a means to supply the city's fortification walls, and as a means of transporting merchandise and passengers between Paris' major rail-company stations. Beginning as two distinct 'Ceinture Syndicate' freight and 'Paris-Auteuil' passenger lines from 1851, these lines formed an arc that surrounded the northern two thirds of Paris, an arc that would become a full circle of rail around the capital when its third Ceinture Rive Gauche section was built in 1867. Saint-Germain-en-Laye–Grande-Ceinture is railway station in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France. Its creation was decided on 11 March 1875 and opened in 1877. The station was built as a passenger stop on the Grande Ceinture but the line soon lost its passenger traffic only to become a goods station. The station recently reopened on 29 November 2004 and is the terminus of a small line to Noisy-le-Roi. RER C is one of the five lines in the Réseau Express Régional (English: Regional Express Network), a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris, France and its suburbs. The line crosses the region from north to south. The line runs from the northern termini Pontoise (C1), Versailles-Château-Rive-Gauche (C5) and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (C7) to the southern termini Massy-Palaiseau (C2), Dourdan-la-Forêt (C4), Saint-Martin d'Étampes (C6) and Versailles-Chantiers (C8). RER A is one of the five lines in the Réseau Express Régional (English: Regional Express Network), a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris, France and its suburbs. The line crosses the region from east to west, with all trains serving a group of stations in central Paris, before branching out towards the ends of the line. The Réseau Express Régional ( en, Regional Express Network), commonly abbreviated RER (), is a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris and its ÃŽle-de-France, suburbs. It acts as a combined city-centre underground rail system and suburbs-to-city-centre commuter rail. In the city centre it acts much like the Paris Métro, though faster, having fewer stops. This has made it a model for proposals to improve transit within other cities. The network consists of five lines: RER A, A, RER B, B, RER C, C, RER D, D and RER E, E. Transilien Line U, also known as "La Défense - La Verrière" or more often simply "ligne U", is a tangential commuter train link, which serves the western Paris region from La Défense. It links the Paris's business district of La Défense to La Verrière station, in the south-west of Ile-de-France.
