Íbis Sport Club
Íbis Sport Club, or Íbis as they are usually called, are a List of football clubs in Brazil, Brazilian football team from Paulista in Pernambuco, Pernambuco state, founded on 15 November 1938. Their home stadium is the Estádio Ademir Cunha, Municipal de Paulista. They play in black and red colors. Íbis are one of the founders of the Federação Pernambucana de Futebol, Pernambuco Football Federation. The club is notorious for its epith of the "Worst Team in the World" after a long losing streak in the late 1970s and 1980s. The club has taken this reputation proudly and humorously, using it to promote the club. History Íbis Sport Club were founded on 15 November 1938 by employees of Tecelagem de Seda e Algodão ("Silk and Cotton Weaving Factory"), owned by João Pessoa de Queiroz, and located in Santo Amaro, Pernambuco, Santo Amaro. The ibises () (collective plural ibis; classical plurals ibides and ibes) are a group of long-legged wading birds in the family Threskiornithidae, that inhabit wetlands, forests and plains. "Ibis" derives from the Latin and Ancient Greek word for this group of birds. It also occurs in the scientific name of the cattle egret (''Bubulcus ibis'') mistakenly identified in 1757 as being the sacred ibis. Description Ibises all have long, downcurved bills, and usually feed as a group, probing mud for food items, usually crustaceans. They are monogamous and highly territorial while nesting and feeding. Central Sport Club
Central Sport Club, usually known simply as Central, is a Brazilian football club. Based in Caruaru, Pernambuco state, the club competes in the Série D. History On June 15, 1919, at Sociedade Musical Comercial Caruaruense, the club was founded by Francisco Porto de Oliveira and the club name was a suggestion by Severino Bezerra. In 1986, Central competed in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, which was named Taça de Prata and Torneio Paralelo. The club won its group and was promoted to the same year's first level. However, the club finished in the last position of its Série A group, and was relegated to the following year's second level. The Campeonato Pernambucano de Futebol (Pernambucan Football Championship, in English) is the football championship of Pernambuco state, Brazil, and is organized by the Federação Pernambucana de Futebol, FPF. The first edition of the Campeonato Pernambucano was played in 1915, and was won by Sport Club Flamengo, Flamengo de Recife, a defunct club.
