Étude Op. 10, No. 7 (Chopin)
Étude Op. 10, No. 7, in C major, is a solo piano technical study composed by Frédéric Chopin around 18301832 and published in 1833. The tempo ''Vivace'' indicates a lively playing speed. Structure Conforming with most of the others, Étude Op. 10, No. 7 consists of three sections. The first theme in C major is followed by a short second theme in D major, which returns to the first theme. It is an exercise in intervals, with the right hand constantly changing from minor thirds to augmented sixths, in quick sixteenth note rhythm, while the left hand plays a simple bass harmonious accompaniment. Technique In order to be melodically pleasing, Étude Op. 10, No. 7 demands a special technique, as the interpretation of its melodic line is not as easy as the more popular études by Chopin; consequently, it is not a standard in concert repertoire. Maurizio Pollini
Maurizio Pollini (5 January 1942 – 23 March 2024) was an Italian pianist and conductor. He was known for performances of Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, and the Second Viennese School, among others. He championed works by contemporary composers, including Pierre Boulez, Karlheinz Stockhausen, George Benjamin, Roberto Carnevale, Gianluca Cascioli and Bruno Maderna. György Cziffra
Christian Georges Cziffra (; born Cziffra Krisztián György; 5 November 192115 January 1994) was a Hungarian-French virtuoso pianist and composer. He is considered to be one of the greatest virtuoso pianists of the twentieth century. Among his teachers was Ernő Dohnányi, a pupil of István Thoman, who was a favourite pupil of Franz Liszt. Born in Budapest, he became a French national in 1968.
