Éric Bertrand (ice Hockey)
Éric Christian Bertrand (born April 16, 1975) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for Saint-Georges Cool FM 103.5 in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey. He previously appeared in 15 games in the National Hockey League. Playing career Bertrand was drafted 207th overall in the eighth round by the New Jersey Devils in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft and as well as the Devils, he played for the Atlanta Thrashers and the Montreal Canadiens. He moved to Europe in 2001, playing for the Bracknell Bees in the British Ice Hockey Superleague, but played just eight games for them before moving to Germany's Deutsche Eishockey Liga where he played for the Kölner Haie. He returned to North America with a spell in the American Hockey League for the Hershey Bears before returning to the DEL to play for the Krefeld Pinguine. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). Metal Ligaen is the premier league in Danish ice hockey. The league consists of 9 professional teams. The name of the league has changed many times, but is being sponsored by Dansk Metal and therefore got the name Metalligaen. The Saint-Georges Cool FM 103.5 is a professional ice hockey team based in Saint-Georges, Quebec, Canada. The team is part of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH), and plays at the Centre Sportif Lacroix-Dutil. History The team was founded in 1996-97 as the Rive-Sud Jackals in the former Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League (QSPHL). The Jackals became the Saint-Georges Garaga in 1998–99, when relocating to Saint-Georges, Quebec. The Garaga dominated Canadian senior hockey in the early 2000s, winning the 2002 Allan Cup and the 2004 Allan Cup. In 2005, the team was purchased by businessman Jean-Paul Blais, who also owns the CRS Express trucking company, and renamed the team Saint-Georges CRS Express.
