Édgar Vivar
Édgar Ángel Vivar Villanueva (born 28 December 1948) is a Mexican actor and comedian. He is best known for his characters of Señor Barriga and his son Ñoño from ''El Chavo del Ocho'', and El Botija from '' Los Caquitos'' and ''Chespirito''. Life and career The son of engineer Ángel Vivar and Celia Villanueva Falconi, Vivar started his acting career in 1964 as a theater actor. He toured the United States with some of his plays. This gave him vast experience in the acting field. In 1970, Chespirito needed a robust person to play Señor Barriga ("Mr. Beliarge" in Spanish) as well as Ñoño in his upcoming Televisa production of '' El Chavo del 8'', and Vivar was hired for the job. Both shows became major international hits, allowing Vivar to become known beyond Mexico and to tour all over Latin America, Spain and the United States. ''Mundo de juguete'' (English: ''Toy World'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Televisa. It is a remake of the 1973 Argentine telenovela ''Papá corazón''. It premiered on November 4, 1974, on Canal de las Estrellas and ended on February 25, 1977. This telenovela holds the record for having the second longest run ever for a Latin American telenovela, with a total of 605 half hour episodes (1974–1977). Most telenovelas run for an average of six to eight months; the shortest ones run about four months, and the longest up to a year. It was created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños (Chespirito), who also played the main character. ''El Chanfle 2'', also known as ''El Chanfle II'' or ''El Chanfle Segundo'', is a 1982 Mexican film written and directed by Roberto Gómez Bolaños, this being the sequel to the previous film El Chanfle, starring the regular cast of Chespirito, with some absences, such as that of Carlos Villagrán, who decided not to work with Roberto Gómez Bolaños because of a personal decision, left in 1979 of the two programs, El Chavo del Ocho and El Chapulín Colorado. ''El Chavo Animado'' (''El Chavo: The Animated Series'' in English) is a Mexican animated series based on the live action television series ''El Chavo del Ocho'', created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños, produced by Televisa and Ánima Estudios. It aired on Canal 5, and repeats were also shown on Las Estrellas and Cartoon Network Latin America. 134 episodes aired between 2006 and 2014 and starts a hiatus. After several years of successful repeats of the original series, on 21 October 2006 Televisa launched in Mexico and the rest of Latin America an animated version of the program by Ánima Estudios to capitalise on the original series' popularity.
