École supérieure des techniques aéronautiques et de construction automobile (ESTACA) is a French engineering School, so called "Grande École", created in 1925. ESTACA is an Egineering school that trains engineers in aeronautics & aerospace engineering, naval engineering, automotive engineering and railway engineering. In addition to its training activities, the school also conducts applied research in the aeronautics, automotive, space, guided transport and naval sectors. Located in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, Bordeaux and Laval, the school is recognised by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur. On 25 September 2012, it joined the ISAE Group. A ''grande école'' () is a specialised university that is separate from, but parallel and often connected to, the main framework of the French public university system. The grandes écoles offer teaching, research and professional training in single academic fields such as engineering, architecture, business administration, academic research, or public policy and administration. Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur (CTI) is the main committee responsible for evaluation and accreditation of higher education institutions for the training of professional engineers in France. Frédéric Vasseur (born 28 May 1968 in Draveil, Ile-de-France) is a French motorsport engineer and manager with a long career managing Formula-series teams. He was the managing director, CEO, and team principal of the Switzerland-based Alfa Romeo Racing. He was announced as the new team principal and general manager of Scuderia Ferrari in December 2022, replacing Mattia Binotto. Career Vasseur studied aeronautics and engineering before starting his career in the junior Formula-series creating his own team, ASM. Rémi Taffin (born 14 March 1975) is a French engineer who is the technical director of French firm Oreca. He was previously the engine technical director for the French Formula 1 team Alpine F1 and Renault Sport. He graduated in mechanical engineering from the École supérieure des techniques aéronautiques et de construction automobile (ESTACA). Taffin began his career in motorsport when he became a racing engineer in 1998 in the Signature stable in Formula 3. The following year, he got a job at Renault and worked with their clients such as Arrows, Benetton Formula, British American Racing (BAR) and Renault F1. Laurent Mekies (born 28 April 1977) is a French engineer working as assistant team principal and race director for Scuderia Ferrari. Career Mekies graduated from Loughborough University after obtaining a master's degree from the École supérieure des techniques aéronautiques et de construction automobile in Paris. In 2000, he started his career at Asiatech in Formula Three before entering Formula One, working for Arrows. He switched to Minardi in the following years, where he worked as the race engineer for Mark Webber, Justin Wilson, Zsolt Baumgartner and Christijan Albers.
