Åfjord Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Åfjord on the peninsula Fosen in Sør-Trøndelag. The club was founded in 1923 and has sections for both association football, team handball, Nordic skiing and athletics. The men's football team plays in the Fifth Division, having last played in the Norwegian Third Division in 2012, while the senior team in the Women's Handball plays in the Third Division. Åfjord is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Trøndelag Counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is part of the Fosen Districts of Norway, region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Å, Åfjord, Årnes. Other villages in the municipality include Revsnes, Trøndelag, Revsnes, Roan (village), Roan, Bessaker, Harsvika, and By, Norway, By. Fosen
Fosen is a traditional district in Trøndelag, consisting of the municipalities Osen, Roan Åfjord, Ørland, Indre Fosen, Orkland, Heim, Hitra and Frøya. The district is dominated by forested valleys, lakes, coastal cliffs but also shallow areas, and in the interior mountains reaching up to 675 m elevation. The western coast has many skerries and some islands, such as Stokkøya in Åfjord. There are some good salmon rivers, and sea eagles and other sea birds are very common along the coast, notably on the shallow area near Ørland (''Grandefjæra''). The west coast has mild winters, and some locations (just west of the mountains) receive on average more than 2,000 mm of precipitation per year. Sør-Trøndelag () was a county comprising the southern portion of the present-day Trøndelag county in Norway. It bordered the old Nord-Trøndelag county as well as the counties of Møre og Romsdal, Oppland, and Hedmark. To the west is the Norwegian Sea (Atlantic Ocean), and to the east is Jämtland in Sweden. The Norwegian Third Division, also called 3. divisjon, is the fourth highest division of the men's football league in Norway. Alexander Lund Hansen
Alexander Lund Hansen (born 6 October 1982) is a Norwegian former footballer. Career He came to Rosenborg from local team Nardo in 2001. In parts of 2004 and 2005 he was on loan to Fredrikstad, where he played 19 matches. He played in six matches for Rosenborg in the Royal League in late 2006, where Rosenborg only got one point. He made his league debut for Rosenborg against Viking in the 1–0 win 23 July 2008. On 13 November 2009, he signed a contract with Danish Odense, and joined the squad on 1 January 2010. On 26 November 2010 he signed with IK Start, and joined the club on a free transfer on 1 January 2011. He returned to Rosenborg in August 2012. After struggling to come back after receiving a concussion for the fifth time in not that many years, Lund Hansen was forced to retire at the end of the 2016 season. Øyvind Svenning (born 29 January 1980) is a Norwegian former footballer who played as a defender. He has played for Rosenborg, Moss and Viking in Eliteserien and GIF Sundsvall in Allsvenskan.
