Porin Ässät (; Finnish language, Finnish for ''Pori Aces'' or ''Aces of Pori'') is a professional ice hockey club based in the town of Pori, Finland. They play in the Finnish elite league, Liiga. They play in the Porin jäähalli, Isomäki Areena. The team is also referred to as Pata and The Red Machine of Pori (''Porin Punakone''). The full name of the company operating the team is at present ''Porin Ässät ry#HC Ässät Pori Oy, HC Ässät Pori Oy''. They have won three Finnish Championships in ice hockey (1970–71 SM-sarja season, 1971, 1977–78 SM-liiga season, 1978, and 2012–13 SM-liiga season, 2013), and several other medals — most recently silver in 2005–06 SM-liiga season, 2006. In addition, both Karhut and RU-38 were one-time champions each. Porin Ässät (women's Ice Hockey)
Porin Ässät (; Finnish for ''Pori Aces'') is an ice hockey team based in Pori, Satakunta, Finland. They have had a women's reprecentative team in 1982–95 and 1999–2003. Porin Ässät was formed in 1967 but women's hockey was introduced to the club in 1982. Ässät was one of the ten founders of the Naisten SM-sarja (now ''Naisten Liiga''). Ässät folded in 2004, but in 2020 it re-started as an ice hockey school for women with the name Ässät Gold Stars. History In the SM-sarja (1982–1995) 1982–83 Ässät Hockey's women's team was established in 1982 and it was one of the 10 founders Naisten SM-sarja. Ässät was tied with Tiikerit at 2nd in the Group A. Ässät played a match against Tiikerit which would decide who makes it to the playoffs. Tiikerit beat Ässät 7-6 and thus Ässät did not make the playoffs. Porin Ässät (men's Football)
Porin Ässät (; Finnish for Pori Aces) was a football club from Pori, Finland. It was established in 1967 as two local sports clubs Karhut and RU-38 merged. The football section was dissolved in 1981 and today Ässät is known as an ice hockey club. Ässät played two seasons in the Finnish premier division Mestaruussarja (1968, 1969) and two seasons in the second tier Suomensarja (1970, 1971). In 1970 Ässät won the U-19 Finnish Championship title. History Ässät was established in 1967 when two clubs from Pori, Porin Karhut and RU-38, merged. The ice hockey team of Ässät got Karhut's place in the SM-sarja, while the Ässät's football team inherited RU-38's place in the Mestaruussarja. The Karhut football team continued its activities for one more season as Ässät's secondary team in Suomensarja, the second-tier league of Finland at the time. The S Group ( fi, S-ryhmä, sv, S-gruppen) is a Finnish retailing cooperative organisation with its head office in Helsinki. Founded in 1904, it consists of 20 regional cooperatives operating all around Finland in addition to SOK, ''Suomen Osuuskauppojen Keskuskunta'' (The Central Finnish Cooperative Society). S Group operates in the markets for groceries, consumer durables, service station, hotel and restaurant services. It is engaged in close competition with Kesko, with which it shares an oligopolistic position in many of the markets it operates in. The group has businesses in Finland, Estonia, and Russia. The S Group also had businesses in Latvia and Lithuania, but announced withdrawal from these markets in May 2017. The organisation's member (loyalty) card is called ''S-Etukortti''.
