テ」ila (, , ) is a city of Spain located in the autonomous community of Castile and Leテウn. It is the capital and most populated municipality of the Province of テ」ila. It lies on the right bank of the Adaja river. Located more than 1,130 m above sea level, the city is the highest provincial capital in Spain. Castile and Leテウn ( es, Castilla y Leテウn ; ast-leo, Castiella y Lliテウn ; gl, Castela e Leテウn ) is an autonomous community in northwestern Spain. It was created in 1983, eight years after the end of the Francoist regime, by the merging of the provinces of the historic region of Leテウn: Leテウn, Zamora and Salamanca with those of Castilla La Vieja (Old Castile): テ」ila, Burgos, Palencia, Segovia, Soria and Valladolid. The Walls of テ」ila, completed between the 11th and 14th centuries, are the defensive walls of テ」ila, Spain, and its principal historic feature. These medieval fortifications are the most complete and best preserved in all the country. The Old Town of テ」ila, including the walls and its extramural churches, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.
