Ásgeir Trausti
Ásgeir Trausti Einarsson (; born 1 July 1992) is an Icelandic singer-songwriter and musician. In his Icelandic releases, he was credited as Ásgeir Trausti. In 2013, he started using the mononym Ásgeir as his recording name. He performs with his own band, the Ásgeir Trausti Band. He also plays guitar in the Icelandic band The Lovely Lion. Career Ásgeir's debut album '' Dýrð í dauðaþögn'' was released in 2012. The lead single, "Sumargestur", made it to number two on the Tónlist, an unofficial but widely quoted Icelandic Singles Chart, followed by the single "Leyndarmál" (six weeks at number 1 on Tónlist) and the title track "Dýrð í dauðaþögn" from the album (three weeks at #1 on Tónlist). He had a Christmas hit with his song "Hvítir skór" in collaboration with Blaz Roca. Kraumur Awards
Kraumur Awards is a music prize, organized by the Kraumur Music Fund, awarded for the best albums being released in Iceland. The nominations for the first Kraumur Awards were announced in November 2008. Nominations and the award-winning albums are chosen by a selected panel of Icelandic music journalist and radio show hosts, with years of experience in playing and writing about Icelandic music. The Kraumur Award usually goes to six albums, while 20 albums are nominated. The panel can add albums to the award category, which led to six albums in the first year and seven albums receiving the Kraumur award in 2013. The Icelandic Music Awards () are the official annual music awards given in Iceland to commemorate the musical achievements of the year. The award was established in 1993 with an annual rock award given by the Félag íslenskra hljómlistarmanna (FÍH) (''Union of Icelandic Musicians''); since then, it has developed into a multi-category event held usually in January or February for awards of the previous year. Eivør (singer)
Eivør Pálsdóttir (; born 21 July 1983), known mononymously as Eivør, is a Faroese singer-songwriter and actress. Born and raised in Syðrugøta, she had her first televised performance at the age of 13. Over the course of her decades-long career, her musical output has spanned a wide range of genres such as folk, art pop, jazz, folk rock, classical and electronica. She is the elder sister of singer Elinborg. Career In 1999, at the age of 15, she became the lead singer in Clickhaze. The following year, she released her first self-titled album, ''Eivør Pálsdóttir'', and then won the 2001 Prix Føroyar song contest as part of the band Clickhaze. Heart-Shaped Box
"Heart-Shaped Box" is a song by the American grunge band Nirvana, written by vocalist and guitarist Kurt Cobain. It appears as the third track on the band's third and final studio album, '' In Utero'', released by DGC Records in September 1993. It was one of two songs on ''In Utero'' remixed by Scott Litt prior to the album's release, due to the band's dissatisfaction with the original mixing by producer Steve Albini. The Litt remix also featured additional vocal harmonies and guitar by Cobain, which were the only elements on the album's 12 main tracks not recorded during the original sessions with Albini in February 1993. In Michael Azerrad's 1993 Nirvana biography, Cobain explained that "Heart-Shaped Box" was written about children with terminal cancer. However, the song is generally also believed to be about his relationship with his wife, Courtney Love, of the American rock band, Hole. ''Afterglow'' is the third studio album by Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir, released on 5 May 2017 through One Little Indian Records. It received mixed reviews from critics and charted across Europe, as well as reaching number 22 in Australia. Critical reception ''Afterglow'' received a score of 58 out of 100 on review aggregator Metacritic based on five critics' reviews, indicating "mixed or average" reception.
