Ángel Bossio
Ángel Luis Bossio (5 May 1905 – 31 August 1978) was an Argentine football goalkeeper. He was called "La maravilla elástica" ("The elastic wonder") due to his agility. Bossio was a member of the Argentine team that took part of the 1928 Olympic games and won the silver medal. He also participated in the first ever World Cup in 1930, where Argentina again finished second behind Uruguay. He played for Argentina 21 times between 1927 and 1935. At club level, Bossio played for Talleres de Remedios de Escalada Club Atlético Talleres, usually called Talleres de Remedios de Escalada, is an Argentine sports club sited in the Remedios de Escalada district of Lanús Partido, Greater Buenos Aires. Football was one of the tournaments at the 1928 Summer Olympics. It was won by Uruguay against Argentina, and was the last Olympic football tournament before the inception of the FIFA World Cup, which was held for the first time in 1930. Venues Background Until 1928, the Olympic football tournament had represented the World Championship of football (the 1920 (14), 1924 (22) and 1928 tournaments (17) all had greater participation than that of the first World Cup in 1930).
