Álvaro Pérez Intriago
Álvaro Pérez Intriago (August 10, 1936 – August 2, 2016) was an Ecuadorian politician. Perez served as the Mayor of Quito from 1978 to 1982. He also served as a deputy in the National Congress from 1984 to 1986 and again from 1996 to 2002. In 2002, Pérez became a candidate for Vice President of Ecuador as the running mate of presidential hopeful Xavier Neira Menéndez. Álvaro Pérez Intriago was born in Quito, Ecuador, on August 10, 1936. He became a lawyer before entering politics. Pérez served on the Quito city council from 1967 to 1970. He then became the Provincial Prefect of Pichincha Province, the head of the province, from 1970 to 1976. Pérez served as Mayor of Quito, the nation's capitol, from 1978 to 1982. National Congress (Ecuador)
The National Congress (Spanish: ''Congreso Nacional)'' was the unicameralism, unicameral legislative branch of the government of Ecuador prior to November 2007. Under the Constitution of Ecuador, 1998 Constitution, Congress met in Quito and was made up of 100 Chamber of Deputies, deputies ''(diputados).'' Each of the country's Provinces of Ecuador, 22 provinces returned a minimum of two deputies plus one additional seat for every 200,000 inhabitants. It was dissolved on 29 November 2007 by the Ecuadorian Constituent Assembly and replaced by the National Assembly of Ecuador under the 2008 Constitution of Ecuador, 2008 Constitution. Alfredo Palacio
Luis Alfredo Palacio González (22 January 1939 – 22 May 2025) was an Ecuadorian cardiologist and politician who was the 44th president of Ecuador from 2005 to 2007. He had been the 44th vice president under President Lucio Gutiérrez, until he was appointed to the presidency when the Ecuadorian Congress removed Gutiérrez from power following a week of growing unrest with his government. He previously served as Minister of Health between 1994 and 1996.
