Álvaro Medrán
Álvaro Medrán Just (; born 15 March 1994) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq as a midfielder. He began his career with Real Madrid, going through the club's academy and later playing five matches with the first team; he was also loaned to Getafe before being released. He signed for Valencia in July 2016, serving loans at Alavés and Rayo Vallecano. Medrán represented Spain at youth level. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game.
