Álvaro Corrada Del Río
Álvaro Corrada del Río, S.J. (born May 13, 1942) is a Puerto Rican prelate of the Catholic Church and member of the Society of Jesus. Corrada served as the Bishop of Mayagüez from 2011 until his retirement in 2020. He previously served as Bishop of Tyler in Texas from 2001 to 2011, as apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Caguas from 1997 to 2001 and as an auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Washington from 1985 to 1997. He served as the apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Arecibo from March to October 2022. Biography Early life Álvaro Corrada was born on May 13, 1942, in the Santurce section of San Juan, Puerto Rico. He has an older brother, Baltasar Corrada del Río, who served as Mayor of San Juan. His Excellency
Excellency is an honorific style (manner of address), style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. Once entitled to the title "Excellency", the holder usually retains the right to that courtesy throughout their lifetime, although in some cases the title is attached to a particular office and is held only during tenure of that office. Generally people addressed as ''Excellency'' are heads of state, heads of government, governors, ambassadors, Roman Catholic bishops, high-ranking ecclesiastics, and others holding equivalent rank, such as heads of international organizations. Eugene Antonio Marino
Eugene Antonio Marino, SSJ (May 29, 1934 – November 12, 2000) was an American Catholic prelate who served as archbishop of Atlanta from 1988 until 1990. He previously served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington from 1974 to 1988. He was the first African-American Catholic archbishop in history and the first African-American bishop in Washington. Marino was a member of the Josephites. Marino resigned as archbishop of Atlanta in 1990, under accusations of having a sexual relationship with a female lay minister. He later worked as a chaplain and counselor in New York until his death in 2000.
