Delirious? (formerly known as The Cutting Edge Band) were an English contemporary Christian music, contemporary Christian band. Tenacious D
Tenacious D is an American comedy rock duo formed in Los Angeles, California in 1994. It was founded by actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass, who were members of The Actors' Gang theater company at the time. The duo's name is derived from "tenacious defense", a phrase used by NBA basketball sportscasters Walt Frazier and Marv Albert. Prior to the release of Tenacious D's 2001 debut album ''Tenacious D'', the duo had a three-episode TV series released on HBO, with the episodes broadcasting between 1997 and 2000. This series came about after the band had met David Cross on the Los Angeles music scene—and Black featuring in episodes of ''Mr. Show with Bob and David''. The band also befriended former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, which began a working relationship between Foo Fighters and Tenacious D. ''Pet Shop of Horrors'' is a Japanese horror manga created by Matsuri Akino. The series focuses on the eccentric Count D, proprietor of a mysterious pet shop located in the heart of Chinatown, and the numerous patrons who visit his shop. The manga, published by Ohzora Publishing in 10 ''tankōbon'' volumes, consists of 41 chapters in total. It has been licensed for distribution in the United States by Tokyopop. Matsuri created a sequel in 2008, It was licensed by Tokyopop and renamed "Pet Shop of Horrors: Tokyo", but the series was dropped at 8 volumes - four volumes short of the 12 volumes it ran in Japan. Detlef Soost (born 2 July 1970), also using the name D! (formerly ''Dee!''), most often called Detlef D! Soost, is a German television personality, dancer and choreographer who gained recognition as one of the jury members of the German talent show ''Popstars''. Early life Soost was born East Berlin, East Germany, and grew up in an orphanage. His mother, who died very early, was a German, and his father came to East Germany from Ghana. According to the biography on his homepage, Soost became streetdance champion of East Berlin when he was 15 years old, and champion of East Germany when he was 16, but some critics point out that, based on his date of birth given in the same biography, this appears very unrealistic, as streetdance was not accepted in East Germany and no "official" battles could be held in which Soost could have won a title. The D River is a river in Lincoln City, Oregon, United States. The once-nameless river was at one time the "shortest river in the world" in the ''Guinness World Records'' at . World record dispute The world's shortest title was lost in 1989 when Guinness named the Roe River in Montana as the world's shortest. Attempting to reclaim the title, the people of Lincoln City submitted a new measurement to Guinness of about marked at "extreme high tide". At that time, Lincoln City's Chamber of Commerce described the Roe as a "drainage ditch surveyed for a school project". Montana supporters shot back that the D was merely an "ocean water backup," pointed out that there was an alternative fork to the Roe which was only long, and suggested that a new survey be conducted. Guinness apparently never ruled on the dispute, leaving the claim by the Roe to stand, but instead, starting in 2006, chose to no longer list the shortest river, possibly because of this ongoing dispute.
