.22 Winchester Centerfire
.22 Winchester Centerfire (.22 WCF) / 5.8x35mmR is a small centerfire intermediate cartridge introduced in 1885 for use in the Winchester Model 1885 single-shot rifle. Factory manufacture of ammunition was discontinued in 1936. The .22 WCF was loaded with a 45 grain bullet with a muzzle velocity of about 1550 feet per second, similar to the performance of the .22 Winchester Rimfire (.22 WRF) designed in 1890. Winchester Model 1885
The Winchester Model 1885 is a single-shot rifle with a falling-block action. It was principally designed by John Browning. Two models were produced, the Low Wall and the High Wall. History In 1878, the 23-year-old Browning designed a falling-block single-shot rifle, for which he was granted a patent the following year. 22 Hornet
The .22 Hornet or 5.6×36mmR Hornet is a varminting, game (hunting), small-game hunting, survival skills, survival and competition centerfire rifle cartridge commercially introduced in 1930. It is considerably more powerful than either the .22 WMR and the .17 HMR rimfire ammunition, rimfire cartridges, achieving a higher velocity with a bullet twice the weight of that used in the .17 HMR. The Hornet also differs significantly from these in that being a centerfire cartridge makes it Handloading, reloadable, and thus more versatile.
