"(I Don't Need You To) Set Me Free" is the third single by alternative rock group Grinderman, and final single from their eponymous debut album, '' Grinderman''. Much like their first single " Get It On", the single is a special A-side only release. Critical reception The single did not receive as much acclaim as the band's previous two singles, with Pitchfork Media stating that:Klein, Joshua. They're just a little too classy, too neat, despite the roaring undercurrent of musical violence in the last, which picks up right before the song cuts off. Grinderman
Grinderman was an Australian-American rock band that formed in London, England, in 2006. The band included Nick Cave (vocals, guitar, organ, piano), Warren Ellis (tenor guitar, electric mandolin, violin, viola, guitar, backing vocals), Martyn P. Formed as a side project to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the band was originally known as Mini Seeds and was formed by Cave as "a way to escape the weight of The Bad Seeds." The band's name was inspired by a Memphis Slim song, "Grinder Man Blues," which Cave is noted to have started singing during one of the band's early rehearsal sessions. The band's eponymous debut studio album, '' Grinderman'', was released in 2007 to highly positive reviews and the band's second and final studio album, '' Grinderman 2'', was released in 2010 to a similar reception. Songs Written By Nick Cave
A song is a musical composition intended to be performed by the human voice. This is often done at distinct and fixed pitches (melodies) using patterns of sound and silence. Songs contain various forms, such as those including the repetition and variation of sections. Written words created specifically for music, or for which music is specifically created, are called lyrics. If a pre-existing poem is set to composed music in classical music it is an art song. Songs that are sung on repeated pitches without distinct contours and patterns that rise and fall are called chants. Songs composed in a simple style that are learned informally "by ear" are often referred to as folk songs. Songs that are composed for professional singers who sell their recordings or live shows to the mass market are called popular songs. These songs, which have broad appeal, are often composed by professional songwriters, composers, and lyricists. Art songs are composed by trained classical compo ...

2007 Songs
7 (seven) is the natural number following 6 and preceding 8. It is the only prime number preceding a cube. As an early prime number in the series of positive integers, the number seven has greatly symbolic associations in religion, mythology, superstition and philosophy. The seven Classical planets resulted in seven being the number of days in a week. It is often considered lucky in Western culture and is often seen as highly symbolic. Unlike Western culture, in Vietnamese culture, the number seven is sometimes considered unlucky. It is the first natural number whose pronunciation contains more than one syllable. Evolution of the Arabic digit In the beginning, Indians wrote 7 more or less in one stroke as a curve that looks like an uppercase vertically inverted. The western Ghubar Arabs' main contribution was to make the longer line diagonal rather than straight, though they showed some tendencies to making the digit more rectilinear. The eastern Arabs developed the digit f ...

Get It On (Grinderman Song)
"Get It On" is the first single by alternative rock group Grinderman - a side project of the Australian post-punk group Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - from their self-titled debut album ''Grinderman''. Released on 8 January 2007, the song received positive reception from music critics, though failed to chart. Critical reception The song, alike the album itself, received very positive reviews, with '' SPIN'' noting that:Spin staff, ''Grinderman Wants to 'Get It On' , Spin Magazine Online'' https://www.spin.com/2007/04/grinderman-wants-get-it/ Published on April 9, 2007. Retrieved on June 6, 2010. Get It On"takes a more raw, experimental approach to songwriting, and offers fans a listen to a first: Cave as a primary guitarist. While Cave & the Bad Seeds specialize in slick, darkly sexy rumblings somewhere between the Doors and Leonard Cohen, Grinderman's "Get It On" offers a study in contrast, with its blues bravado and loud, ragged riffs. Released on 19 February 2007, the song - like the previous single " Get It On" - received a positive reception from critics. Unlike the previous Grinderman single, this one charted, peaking at UK #62. "No Pussy Blues" was also the first song available on the band's MySpace page. Background and meaning The lyrics address the narrator's frustration at constant rejection as he attempts several different tactics to seduce a woman and sleep with her. When asked during an interview whether the song had a deeper meaning, Nick Cave replied "no, it's just about not getting any pussy when I grew my mustache." The single's b-side, "Chain of Flowers", was first available on the leaked version of the album from 2006, yet it failed to make the final track list. Critical reception The song, alike the album itself, received very positive reviews, with BBC Music describing it as: ...

Grinderman (album)
''Grinderman'' is the eponymous debut studio album by alternative rock band Grinderman, a side project of members of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, released on 5 March 2007 on Mute Records in Europe and ANTI- in the United States. Aiming to recreate the more raw, primal sound of all former related projects such as The Birthday Party, ''Grindermans lyrical and musical content diverged significantly from Nick Cave's concurrent work with The Bad Seeds, whose last studio album, ''Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus'' (2004), was primarily blues, gospel and alternative-orientated in stark contrast to the raw sound of the early Bad Seeds albums. Incidentally, the musical direction of ''Grinderman'' influenced The Bad Seeds' next studio album, ''Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!'' (2008). According to producer Nick Launay, the recording sessions for the album only lasted four days, during which time the band also recorded a number of extra material. One song " Chain Of Flowers" was later featured as th ...
