''RWBY'' (pronounced "Ruby") is an American anime-influenced computer-animated web series created by Monty Oum for Rooster Teeth. It is set in the fictional world of Remnant, where young people train to become warriors (called "Huntsmen" and "Huntresses") to protect their world from monsters called Grimm. The name ''RWBY'' is derived from the four main protagonists' forenames: Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang, and their respective theme colors (red, white, black and yellow). Following several promotional trailers, the first episode was screened at the Rooster Teeth convention event RTX and then released on their website in July 2013. Subsequent episodes were released approximately weekly, first to Rooster Teeth's subscribers and then to YouTube a week later. Oum died in 2015, during production of the third season for the series. RWBY Chibi
''RWBY Chibi'' is an American animated comedy web series produced by Rooster Teeth Animation for Rooster Teeth. It is a spin-off of ''RWBY'', where each episode consists of several scenes where aspects of RWBY's characters are usually exaggerated for comic effect. The series was first announced as part of Rooster Teeth's 13th Anniversary celebration on April 1, 2016 and premiered May 7. In January 2017, Rooster Teeth confirmed the second season's premiere on May 13, 2017 on Rooster Teeth and May 20, 2017 on YouTube. A third season premiered on January 27, 2018 on Rooster Teeth and February 3, 2018 on YouTube. Barbara Dunkelman
Barbara Julie Dunkelman (born July 2, 1989) is a Canadian actress and internet personality. She is known for her work with the production company Rooster Teeth, where she serves as a Creative Director and was formerly the Director of Social and Community Marketing and a Program Director for RTX. Monty Oum
Monyreak Oum ( ; June 22, 1981 – February 1, 2015) was an American web-based animator and writer. Oum attracted attention within the gaming community after releasing an animated video in 2007, titled ''Haloid'', where characters from the ''Halo'' and ''Metroid'' video game franchises fight against each other'','' which went viral. In October of the same year, he released a follow-up, ''Dead Fantasy''. Oum began working for Rooster Teeth, serving as the lead animator for '' Red vs. Blue'', and creating the original animated series ''RWBY''. Lindsay Elise Jones (née Tuggey; born September 6, 1989) is an American actor, director, gamer and host. They are known for their work with Rooster Teeth, and have provided the voices of Ruby Rose in ''RWBY'' and in '' Red vs. Blue'' since 2013. RTX is a series of annual gaming and Internet conventions created by Rooster Teeth held in Austin, Texas and for a period of time also Sydney and London, England.
