Kunming
Kunming (; ), also known as Yunnan-Fu, is the capital and largest city of Yunnan province, China. It is the political, economic, communications and cultural centre of the province as well as the seat of the provincial government. The headquarters of many of Yunnan's large businesses are in Kunming. It was important during World War II as a Chinese military center, American air base, and transport terminus for the Burma Road. In the middle of the Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau, Kunming is at an altitude of above sea level and a latitude just north of the Tropic of Cancer. As of 2020 census, Kunming had a total population of 8,460,088 inhabitants, of whom 5,604,310 lived in its built-up (or metro) area made of all urban districts but Jinning, not conurbated yet. Yunnan
Yunnan , () is a landlocked province in the southwest of the People's Republic of China. The province spans approximately and has a population of 48.3 million (as of 2018). The capital of the province is Kunming. Chenggong District
Chenggong District () is one of seven districts of the prefecture-level city of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, Southwest China. The district was approved to build from the dissolution of the former ''Chenggong County'' () by the State Council on May 20, 2011, and situated on east bank of the Dian Lake. Chenggong is the chief zone for Kunming, the downtown of which is almost a 20-minute drive away. It is the site of the new Kunming City Hall, and new campuses for Yunnan University and Yunnan Normal University. Early in the district's redevelopment, much of the newly constructed housing in Chenggong was unoccupied and was reportedly one of the largest ghost towns in Asia in 2012, in a similar situation to Ordos City and the New South China Mall. Anning () is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, China. It is located approximately 28 kilometers southwest of Kunming city proper. Dian Lake
Dianchi Lake (), also known as Lake Dian and Kunming Lake (), is a large lake located on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau close to Kunming, Yunnan, China. Panlong District
Panlong District () is one of seven districts of the prefecture-level city of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, Southwest China. Administrative divisions Tuodong, Gulou, Donghua, Lianmeng, Jinchen, Qingyun, Ciba and Longquan Sub-district Offices, Shuanglong Village and Songhua Village Demography Panlong District stretches from Kunming's downtown area to the city's northern ring road. Shilin Yi Autonomous County
Shilin Yi Autonomous County (: Sani: ) is an autonomous county, under the jurisdiction of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, China. Etymology Lunan Yi Autonomous County () is the former name of Shilin, and usually be called for short as Lunan County (). The name of "Lunan" was first appeared in 1275, Yuan Dynasty, when the administrative division of Lunan Zhou () established. The name Lunan means "South of Middle Lu ()". But in 1998, another said of the word's origin meaning was proposed when Lunan County apply for change the name to Shilin.
