Venetian, also known as wider Venetian or Venetan (łengua vèneta [ˈ(l)eŋɡwa ˈvɛneta]) or vèneto [ˈvɛneto]), is a Romance language spoken natively in the northeast of Italy, mostly in Veneto, where most of the five million inhabitants can understand it.
