The People's Volunteer Organisation (Burmese: ပြည်သူ့ရဲဘော်တပ်; Pyithu Yèbaw Tat) was a 50,000-strong Burmese pro-independence paramilitary force founded by Aung San shortly after the August 1945 Japanese surrender.
