Lagoon Mirim

Lagoon Mirim (Portuguese, pronounced) or Merín (Spanish, pronounced) is a large estuarinelagoon which extends from southern Rio Grande do Sul state in Brazil into eastern Uruguay. Lagoa Mirim is separated from the Atlantic Ocean by a sandy, partially barren isthmus.
