John Rhys

Sir John Rhŷs (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈr̥ɨːs]; 21 June 1840 – 17 December 1915) was a Welsh Celticist and philologist. A fellow of the British Academy, he served as the first professor of Celtic at Oxford University.
