Flaming Mountains

The Flaming Mountains (Chinese: ; pinyin: huǒyànshān) or HuoyanMountains, are barren, eroded, red sandstone hills in the Tian Shan of Xinjiang. They lie near the northern rim of the Taklamakan Desert and east of the city of Turpan.
