Origin

Zebu cattle are derived from the Indian aurochs and were domesticated between 6,000 and 7,000 YBP at Mehrgarh in Northern west Pakistan, with possible secondary domestication events in other parts of South Asia. The Zebu was domesticated by people arriving from Southwest Asia who promoted the neolthic development in Mehrgarh.
