White Rabbit

The White Rabbit is a fictional anthropomorphic rabbit who appears as a key character in Lewis Carroll's 1865 book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. He is depicted as a hurried, waistcoat-clad lagomorph who perpetually consults his pocket watch and mutters of his tardiness as he scurries about in his duties. His appearance and behaviour incite the protagonist Alice to pursue him , initiating her journey into Wonderland. Alice encounters him again when he mistakes her for his housemaid Mary Ann and she becomes trapped in his house after growing too large. In the last few chapters, he appears as a herald and footman to the King and Queen of Hearts. The White Rabbit has been depicted in numerous adaptations, including Disney's 1951 and 2010 films.
