USS Monocacy (1864)

The first USS Monocacy was a sidewheelgunboat in the United States Navy. She was named for the Battle of Monocacy.
Monocacy was launched by , Baltimore, Maryland, on 14 December 1864; sponsored by Miss Ellen Denmead; completed late in 1865; and placed in service in 1866. Future Governor of American SamoaHenry Francis Bryan served as her commander for some of her sailing days.
