Type errors
A type error occurs when an operation receives a different type of data than it expected. For example, a type error would happen if a line of code divides two integers, and is passed a string of letters instead of an integer. It is an unintended condition which might manifest in multiple stages of a program's development. Thus a facility for detection of the error is needed in the type system. In some languages, such as Haskell, for which type inference is automated, lint might be available to its compiler to aid in the detection of error.
