Mountains

The Tuva Republic is made up of a mountain basin, about 600 metres or 2,000 feet in altitude, encircled by the Sayan and Tannu-Ola mountain ranges. Mountains and hills cover over 80 percent of its territory. Mongun-Tayga ("Silver Mountain", 3,970 metres or 13,025 feet) is the highest point in the republic and is named after its glacier.
