Triple album
Among the first successful triple albums (or triple records) were the live album Woodstock: Music from the Original Soundtrack and More released on August 15, 1970, and the studio album George Harrison's All Things Must Pass released on November 27, 1970. A triple album may be live, such as The Band's The Last Waltz (1978) and Led Zeppelin's How the West Was Won (2003) or a compilation of an artist's work, such as Stevie Wonder's retrospective anthology Looking Back. Yes's live album Yessongs (1972) was made a triple album owing to its inclusion of many of the band's longer compositions. With the longer time available on compact disc, many albums that spanned three vinyl discs are able to fit on two compact discs (for example, Nine Inch Nails' The Fragile (1999)).
