Tim Houston

Timothy Jerome Houston (born April 10, 1970) is a Canadian politician who has served as the 30th premier of Nova Scotia since 2021, and leader of the Progressive Conservative Party (PC) since 2017. He was first elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in the 2013 provincial election, and represents the electoral district of Pictou East. He was the leader of the opposition from 2018 to 2021.

Houston and the PC party won a majority government in the 2021 Nova Scotia general election, making him the first PC premier since 2009. He called a snap election in 2024, increasing his party's majority. He also began to appoint himself to positions in his own cabinet, appointing himself the new minister of energy in 2026.
