The Curse of the Werewolf

The Curse of the Werewolf is a 1961 British horror film from Hammer Film Productions. It is directed by Terence Fisher from a screenplay by producer Anthony Hinds (under the pen name 'John Elder'), and features Oliver Reed in his first leading film role. Clifford Evans, Yvonne Romain, and Catherine Feller also star. It is loosely based on Guy Endore's 1933 novel The Werewolf of Paris.
Unlike Hammer’s previous horror films Frankenstein, Dracula, and The Mummy, the film was not successful at the box office, making it the only werewolf film for Hammer. The Curse of the Werewolf is notable as the first werewolf film to be shot in colour.
