Sultanate of Mysore

The Sultanate of Mysore was a state in southern India between 1761 and 1799. Under the leadership of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan, who took de facto power from the titular rulers of the Wadiyar dynasty, Mysore became one of the most powerful military states in South Asia. Mysore developed centralized administration, military-industrial capacity, and extensive diplomatic relations while resisting the territorial expansion of the East India Company.
