Russian Olympic Committee

The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC; IOC Code: RUS) is the National Olympic Committee representing Russia. Established in 1911 and later subsumed by the Soviet Olympic Committee, the ROC was restructured in 1992 following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since 2009, the ROC has faced frequent accusations of cheating, resulting in 51 Olympic medals being stripped, and in 2019 was suspended by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for its extensive state-sponsored doping program. The ROC faced further sanctions following the invasion of Ukraine. In July 2026, the IOC announced its intention to allow the ROC to compete in subsequent Olympic Games.
