Since the 2000 presidential election, Russian politics has been focused on Putin, his United Russia party, and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. At the 2003 legislative elections, United Russia reduced all other parties to minority status in landslide electoral victory. Other parties retaining seats in the State Duma, the lower house of the legislature, are the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and A Just Russia.
