National Collections
Extracted from the Wikipedia article National Collections of Scotland.
The five National Collections of Scotland are overseen and funded by the Scottish Government. The modern grouping developed as an administrative category for Scotland's principal national collecting institutions, rather than through the creation of a single organisation. They are responsible for collecting and publicly exhibiting items and archives of national and international importance.
