It is designated by the siglum788 in the Gregory-Aland numbering of New Testament manuscripts, and ε1033 in the von Soden numbering of New Testament manuscripts Using the study of comparative handwriting styles (palaeography), it has been assigned to the 11th century.

It is one of the manuscripts comprising the group known as Family 13 (ƒ). According to scholar Didier Lafleur it is the closest manuscript in its textual character to the archetype of the family.
