Media consumption

Media consumption or media diet is the sum of information and entertainmentmedia taken in by an individual or group. Media consumption refers to how people access, use and interact with different types of media in their day-to-day lives, including both traditional and digital platforms. It includes activities such as interacting with new media, readingbooks and magazines, watching television and film, and listening to radio. While media consumption can be categorized as passive, research shows that audiences actively engage with content based on their own experiences and interests. (Valkenburg et al., 2016).
