Market dominance and monopolies
Market dominance is closely related to the economic concept of competition. Monopolistic power is derived from market share, and thus intertwined with dominance. Whilst a theoretical monopoly will have a single firm supplying the industry, market dominance can describe a situation where multiple firms operate in the market, however a single firm has majority control.
